LEAP students will enjoy reading. They will respond to literature and work on writing. They will enhance their math skills, do art activities, and sing songs. They will enjoy hands- on science experiments and participate in PE. I look forward to working with LEAP students and instilling the joy of learning.

We will have fun engaging in different art, reading, writing, math, and science activities using some of our favorite SEL (Social Emotional Learning) book titles.

Students will be coming to class to work hands on with letters, letter sounds, numbers and writing. Music & movement will be incorporated into the lessons. Students will also learn how to take turns, get along with others, and how to appropriately express their emotions.

In this STEAM class we will be doing science experiments, art activities, math games, learning about Ozobots, and engineering functioning roller coasters. Your student will be engaged daily in hands on learning activities.

Thank you for your interest into the LEAP program. In this course, your child will develop social and emotional skills through the use of art. During these four weeks, we will focus on self awareness, self management, and work on building relationship skills. Be prepared to have fun and don't be afraid to get messy while doing it! Creativity is encouraged.

Students will increase their LOVE OF READING (and their skills) through the use of picture books and STEAM. We will read books in a different theme each week (Camp Read-A-Lot, Out of This World, Around the World, and Our Animal Planet). Then, we'll help those stories come alive through a variety of games and art mediums: visual, and performing arts, as well as STEM activities! We’ll read...we’ll sing… we’ll build...we'll make music...we'll move...we'll make art together!

In this class, we will explore the deep oceans and the amazing animals that are part of this habitat. We will explore ocean life through children's literature, virtual field-trips to the ocean and fun, art projects. We will also focus on Social Emotional Learning. We will learn body and mind relaxation techniques through the use of stretching and children's yoga. Come join us as we splash into the ocean and learn to self-manage our emotions to feel calmer, happier and more peaceful inside!

Join our Summer Reading Class where students will expand their reading skills, reading comprehension, and vocabulary development. The students will read chapter books to increase comprehension and decoding skills. The children will learn new vocabulary by drawing illustrations of the words and definitions.

This class addresses the physical, mental, and emotional needs of kids in an active and fun way. The daily schedule includes art, yoga, outdoor games, and reading for pleasure. Through a variety of activities, students will learn healthy ways to manage stress, and (most importantly) have fun!

Students will develop writing and photography skills in this fun interactive course. Students will have access to a digital camera and will take photos and learn to write captions and expository, descriptive, narrative, and persuasive texts to accompany their photo taking adventures. Students will learn the process of journaling to develop self awareness and will also build relationships as they work together through engaging activities.

Come have fun exploring different continents and cultures from around the world. In this fun filled class, students in grades 5-6 will enhance their relationship and social awareness skills by traveling across the globe learning about different cultures from distant lands. In addition to creating cool souvenirs, students will draw, write paragraphs, collect passport stamps, and create a keepsake memory journal filled with interesting information about their travels.

In this course students will use books, video, and the internet to explore different artists, space, engineering, and robotics. Students will create murals, a solar-powered robot, and various art projects as they investigate science and art. Students will also engage in self-awareness and social interaction through physical activity, free choice reading, and journaling.

Students will be introduced to the world of computer science with an emphasis on coding and how it relates to program functions. In addition, the students will also take part in social-emotional learning experiences to develop interpersonal skills that are important for success.

Students will be taught how to develop their own calligraphy style. Students will learn how different calligraphy styles communicate different moods and attitudes. Students will also be learning different doodling techniques to accompany their calligraphy writing.
