Take a trip around the world and learn about 16 different countries from all continents! In this course, we will be learning about a new country each day and diving into the culture through language, art, food, and much more! Parents can expect their child to compare and contrast their own culture with each country through mediums such as writing, presentations, and art. Students should plan to gain a deeper understanding of the differences and similarities we all hold as human beings.

In this course, students will use math to create works of art. The use of math integrated with art will create a fun understanding of the math standards that are covered in third and fourth grade. The use of art will engage students while working collaboratively and individually, while practicing essential math skills.

Students will learn the basics of reading music through playing a variety of percussion instruments including the glockenspiel and snare drum. In addition to this, students will write melodies and practice improvisation. If your student has never been in band before, this course is designed to give them the confidence they need to join band and learn to play an instrument. Students who have music experience will be challenged with more advanced theory topics and playing the piano.

STEAM Around the World integrates history with math, and where some of our familiar games originated. Students will leave with their own copy of the games made from simple or recycled materials. Students will develop strategy skills and game theory, have opportunities to collaborate with others, and have fun while developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will also have opportunities for growth and enrichment preparing them for middle school math.
