Roy H. Adams-Paintings & Assemblages

Roy H. Adams was born the son of a Baptist Minister. ( A theater-like experience) To him, "the world is a stage."

Adams is a multi-media artist. His favorite painters are Matisse, Picasso, and Pollock. Adams has a B.A. in Art.

One day at the Tampa Museum of Art, he met photographer Bud Lee. Lee noticed Adams sketching. Bud Lee was Life Magazine's Photographer of the Year.

Lee and Adams developed a friendship, and Lee encouraged Adams to paint. Bud Lee also helped Adams get in art shows in the Tampa area. Eventually, Adams became an award-winning international artist, showing in Mexico, the U.S.A., and Germany.

Today he lives in Plant City, Florida. Most of these paintings are of the Plant City area and Ybor City.

Adams scours antique shops, flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales in search of found objects. He has taken classes in mixed- media and assemblage at the Polk Museum of Art. Roy's sculpture influences are Christian Marclay and Joseph Cornell.
