Career and Technical Education – CTE

CTE prepares students for a wide range of careers and further educational opportunities.

CTE prepares students to be college and career-ready through classes that teach applied academic skills, employability skills, and job-specific and technical skills.

Did you know?

  • 68% of Juneau School District students were enrolled in at least one CTE course in 2018-2019.

  • 97% graduation rate for students who earned 2 or more credits in a career pathway.

  • 80% of CTE students who earned 2 credits in a career pathway went on to postsecondary education and training, military or employment.

  • 65+ JSD high school students in 2018-2019 enrolled in one or more dual enrollment courses earning high school and university credits through articulation agreements with UAS/UAF.

  • Many JSD high school students earned Industry Certifications in IRC, ETT, CPR/FA, CNA, ServeSafe, and Food Worker Cards.


The Juneau School District encourages students to explore career interests including non- traditional Trades and STEM careers through the IGNITE club at JDHS and Future Women in Science at TMHS.
