I grew up in Lehi, Utah, back when it was a small farm town with just one traffic light. I graduated from Lehi High in 2000, proud to be a Purple Pioneer, and went on to earn my English Education degree from UVU (then UVSC) in 2004. In January 2018, I completed my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University. I taught English at Lehi High from 2004 to 2011 before taking time off to focus on being a mom.
In 2014, I moved to Nephi and returned to teaching in 2015. Since 2016, I’ve been at Juab High School, where I teach English 10, English 1010, and Western Literature. I also coach the Speech and Debate team, which I love. My Pioneer purple has given way to Wasp crimson and gold, and I’m all in for JHS.
Outside the classroom, I’m the lead singer for the Intense Country Band, belting out tunes and channeling my inner Linda Ronstadt. I enjoy Yacht Rock, reading Westerns, and writing fiction—though I rarely finish those stories. A good nap is always a win. I’m happy to be here, teaching, singing, and cheering on my students.
