Fee Waiver

Jefferson Parish Public School System is not taking any free/reduced lunch forms. Therefore, in order to qualify for an ACT or SAT fee waiver, the attached form must be submitted to Ms. Tanya Heck (tanya.heck@jpschools.org). Please include a copy of the student's SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF card. The sooner the form and documentation is submitted, the sooner you may receive a fee waiver.
Parent Conferences:
Teachers will be available for virtual parent conferences during their planning period on February 8 and 9, and they will hold in-person conferences from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, February 10. Please email your child's teachers to schedule appointments for conferences. Friday, February 10 will be a student holiday. Students will not report to school that day.

PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting will be on February 9 at 6:00 pm in the Haynes Library. We encourage you to join us this evening as we hear from several teachers that have applied for PTO grants, plan for the Gala, and discuss other ways the PTO can be involved on campus.

Prom Fest:

Eat at Lee's across from the school on March 4th and tell them you are from HAYNES!

Part of the proceeds will go to the school.

Mattress sale will be in the Gym on March 4th.

If someone comes in and says you told them about the sale and they buy a mattress, $25 goes directly to you.

This is potentially a huge fundraiser for Prom Fest. The gym will be set up like a furniture store.

Please see Mr. T for a sign and flyers that you can give out.

Funds will benefit both PromFest and the school, so even if you aren't going to PromFest, please consider spreading the word.

"Haynes Academy is thrilled to announce that James Lee received a full four-year scholarship to Princeton through the @QuestBridge National College Match. Congratulations!"

Valerie Gaffney, a 6th grader currently enrolled at Haynes Academy, won the K-8 Division of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra 2022-2023 Young Artists' Concerto Competition! On Saturday, October 1, Valerie took the stage at Tulane University's Dixon Hall and wowed a panel of judges with her performance of the Kabalevsky Violin Concerto in C Major. As a Haynes alumni myself (class of 2014!), I was incredibly proud of her performance and professionalism. Valerie will be featured as a soloist with the LPO in a Young Peoples' Concert on February 8, 2023 at 10 AM at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center. Schools are invited to take a field trip and attend the concert! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Chromebooks should be charged each night and brought to school each day.

Chromebooks must be kept in sleeves when not in use.

Carpool/Parking Reminders:

As a reminder no student may be picked up or dropped of on the front side of campus during carpool. High school students may be picked up and dropped off on Sycamore. Please make sure to follow all traffic and parking ordinances even if you are waiting in your car.
