What is New Math? - Teaching New MathThere seems to be a great debate over old math vs. new math. Wanna know a secret? The math is the same. Numbers haven't changed. Sums, differences, products, and quotients are all still important terms in math classes. Numerators are still at the tops of fractions and denominators are on the bottom. Students are still finding the area of rectangles by multiplying the length by the width. The math is the same. Yet, there is this term "new math" - why?
