About Me

Hello! I am Lillian Mathis and I am thrilled to be your student's fifth grade literacy and social studies teacher at International Studies! This is my third year teaching and I know it is going to be a great one! I have always wanted to be a teacher growing up and I am honored to be teaching at IS.

I was born and raised in Mountain Home, AR and I moved to Jonesboro when I graduated high school in 2018. My mother was actually born and raised in Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School. I moved to Jonesboro to attend Arkansas State University, and graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in December 2021. I have a little boy (Crew) and a little girl (Charlotte)!. Crew is 3 years old and Charlotte is 3 months old!

I am in the house of Nukumori- House of kindness. We are kind but strong! The color for this house is purple. The color purple reminds us that we are kings and queens. Our animal is a dragon, representing balance and freedom, as well as ancient power and wisdom. 

I am so excited to be your childs teacher, this is going to be an epic year!!
