About Me

My name is Mike Sommerfield and I'm so excited to be a part of the JJHS Staff! For 10 years, I taught Physical Education at Johnsburg Elementary School and this will be my 3rd year teaching Health at Johnsburg Junior High. 

I graduated from North Park University where I played collegiate baseball and currently hold two Master's Degrees: one in Educational Psychology from the University of Missouri and one in Health & Wellness Education from the American College of Education.

I love being outside and being active in any way that I can including: golfing, fishing, hiking, and playing sports.  I've been married to my wonderful bride, Erica, for 11 years and we have four beautiful children: Theo, Miles, Eli & Emery. We currently reside in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, so go Cubs and go Packers!
