Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days starting on the 25th day of the Hebrew month Kislev (anytime from late November to late December).
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the dedication of the second temple in Jerusalem. Families celebrate Hanukkah by giving gifts each night of the eight day celebration, lighting one candle on the menorah each night of the celebration, and playing with a dreidel. Special hymns and songs are also sung and traditional food is prepared in olive oil.
