The family of Bleeker Junior High School provides students the strong educational foundation needed to thrive as global citizens in a rapidly changing world. It prepares them for college and a career of their choice. Our school is focused on high academic achievement rooted in rigorous instruction through critical thinking and problem solving. We help foster students' self-esteem by optimizing the social-emotional needs of individual children in a culturally diverse environment to create active lifelong learners. Our school puts each child at the center of their own learning by meeting the individual needs of all of our students by providing individualized programming for students. We ensure that every student’s individual educational experience is engaging, challenging, purposeful, and ensures mastery of academic standards and enables them to take ownership of their learning.

Our Education Vision
We strive to ensure our students are prepared for college and 21st Century careers. Our teachers provide support and enrichment in an inquiry-based environment. We incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) into the curriculum through our Collaborative Learning Program and Software Engineering Program. Students experience an interdisciplinary approach to learning through residency programs with Arts Connection, Silk Road Connect, and other cultural partners. Our students participate in engaging field trips, artist visits, and performances, and have won awards in science, math, robotics, art, spelling, and athletic competitions. We partner with Asia Society and Confucius Classrooms to provide our students with cultural experiences, and we offer Chinese language instruction and a dual language program. Families are integral to our school community whom are invited to participate in activities and take on leadership roles. Daily communication between parents and our school is facilitated via our interactive website and Pupil Path online system.
Students Like Best: Students Like Best: As part of our 6th grade Architecture & Engineering theme, specially trained teachers work with the students to provide them with unique interdisciplinary learning experiences. Furthermore, Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project brings together the arts, history, and architecture for our 6th & 7th graders. Our 7th grade students explore health issues and careers within the medical community. By focusing on social justice, our 8th graders connect past events to present concerns and become socially aware and responsible citizens. Our students also enjoy an extensive after-school program. Interesting Facts: Our students have won top awards in math, robotics, film-making, art, science, athletics and other competitions. Unique and engaging field trips and artist visits are provided by our cultural partners. An international partnership with the Confucius Classrooms Program provides our students with cultural experiences and three years of Chinese language instruction.
