Round 2 Results and Appeals Email/Letter

Dear 8th Grade Families,

ALL students who submitted a Round 2 High School Application by the due date will receive a Round 2 results letter in May.

If your child received a Round 1 offer and then a Round 2 offer; the Round 1 offer is no longer available. You cannot choose between your Round 1 and Round 2 offers. An appeal to your Round 1 offer will not be considered.

If you received an offer to a program that was not on your application, it is because the Office of Student Enrollment could not match you to any of the programs listed on your application due to several factors:

1) Available seats

2) Admissions methods,

3) Admissions priorities,

4) If and where the school ranked you for screened and audition programs

Appeal Forms will be available in my office after Round 2 results are distributed. If you would like to submit an Appeal, return a completed and signed Appeal Form with the appropriate supporting documentation to me by the due date listed on the form. Appeals are reviewed by a central committee at the Office of Student Enrollment and not by the schools on your Appeal Form. Submitting an Appeal is not a guarantee that the Appeal will be granted.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

If you move and provide all the legal documents to change your address at the school and your child’s zoned school changes, you are not automatically assigned to the new zoned program.

If you moved, your zoned school has changed, and you want to attend that new zoned school, YOU MUST APPLY TO THAT NEW ZONED SCHOOL IN ROUND TWO.

See the guidance counselor assigned to your child’s class listed below for the round two application. Applications are due back no later than Monday March 26, 2018.

Dear 8th Grade Families,

All students who submitted a Round 1 High School Application by December 1, 2017 will receive letters with Round 1 results in March. These letters will also include results for students who applied to any of the Specialized High Schools.

If your child received offers from a program on their High School Application and from a Specialized High School, then they will need to choose which program to accept. You must tell me the date indicated on the Round 1 results letter.

Students who do not receive an offer in Round 1 must submit a Round 2 High School Application by the date indicated on the Round 1 results letter. If you prefer programs on the Round 2 Program List over your Round 1 offer, you may also submit a Round 2 High School Application. By doing so, you agree to the following:

1) You will give up your Round 1 offer if your child matches to a program you list on the Round 2 High School Application

2) You will not be able to choose between your Round 1 and Round 2 offers

3) An appeal to your Round 1 offer will not be considered

If you do not receive an offer in Round 2, you will keep your Round 1 offer.

Round 2 High School Applications and a list of available programs will be in my office after Round 1 results are distributed. If you are interested in submitting a Round 2 High School Application, you should plan to attend the Round 2 Fair. The Fair dates and time will be published here: http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/High/events.
