Library Cards
Jericho Town Library offers library cards to Vermont residents. Children and teens who are younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to sign up for a card. Please visit the library to fill out a registration form.
A JTL library card allows you to check out books, audiobooks (CDs), DVDs, board games, and items from our Library of Things. Loan periods are typically three weeks, though items from our Library of Things are checked out for a loan period of one week. Renewals are possible, if materials are not on hold for another patron. You can also use your card to access ebooks and audiobooks on the Libby app.
Additionally, JTL is a proud member of the Homecard library system, so you can also use your card to check out materials from select libraries in Chittenden, Franklin, Addison, Grand Isle, and Lamoille counties. Libraries in the Homecard network include:
Brownell Library (Essex Junction) | Burnham Memorial Library (Colchester) | Carpenter-Carse Library (Hinesburg) | Charlotte Public Library | Deborah Rawson Memorial Library (Jericho) | Dorothy Alling Memorial Library (Williston) | Essex Free Library | Fairfax Community Library | Georgia Public Library | Grand Isle Free Library | Huntington Public Library | Ilsley Public Library (Middlebury) | Jericho Town Library | Lawrence Memorial Library (Bristol) | Lincoln Library | Milton Public Library | New Haven Community Library | North Hero Library | Orwell Free Library | Pierson Library (Shelburne) | Richmond Free Library | Russell Memorial Library (Monkton) | South Burlington Community Library | Starksboro Public Library | Varnum Memorial Library (Jeffersonville) | Westford Public Library | Winooski Public Library | Worthen Library (South Hero)
Makerspace
The Makerspace is located on the second floor of the library. We encourage patrons of all ages to use our tools and materials to create, design, build, code, and tinker. Tutorial binders are available for some of our more unusual items, like our 3D pens, 3D printer, LEGO robotics, and Cubelets. The Maerspace also includes:
LEGOs | scissors | decorative scissors | paper punchers | stamps | liquid glue | glue sticks | hot glue | paint | watercolors | crayons | markers | beads | string | thread | ribbon | styrofoam | popsicle sticks | felt | pipe cleaners | cardboard | construction paper | origami paper | and more
While the Makerspace is designed for self-directed learning, library staff are always happy to answer questions! Patrons under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The 3D printer is free for all patrons aged 7-18. Adult patrons will pay the library for the cost of the filament used in their print job: $0.20/gram of filament.
Play Area
The second floor of the library is also home to our Play Area, which was transformed a few years ago with a generous gift from the King family, commemorating the life of beloved Jericho resident Kelly King. Popular toys include the train set, grocery store, kitchen, puppet theater, dollhouse, and sand table.
Computers, Printing, & WiFi
We currently have one computer available for extended patron use on the first floor of the library. Printing/copying (black and white) is also available. The library offers free WiFi 24/7 in the library and on the library lawn (and to some parts of the town green).
Home Delivery
Patrons who are unable to physically access the library may sign up for our Home Delivery Service. Home Delivery is offered on a one-time or recurring basis. Patrons can request specific items or complete an interest profile to receive a curated collection of materials from library staff. Sign up for Home Delivery by phone, email, online form, or paper form (to the right).
