The holidays are approaching, so let's review some ways we can show gratitude for our families, friends, and our Jericho community!
Verbal:
Just by saying “thank you,” you show that you are grateful. Even when you say “no thank you” you still demonstrate that you appreciate the effort that others put in.
Writing a Note:
When you make a handmade note, you not only show gratitude in the writing itself, but also in the effort you put into creating it.
Giving a Gift:
When you give a gift of gratitude, handmade or not, it shows you are willing to put in the thought, resources, and effort to find a present that truly suits the other person.
Hugs!:
Giving a hug is a symbol of love. A simple hug still shows you are grateful for all the amazing things that your friends and family have done for you.
Compliments:
Complimenting others can give them a boost in confidence. This can be really effective when someone is having a bad day!
Now that you know these basic ways of showing gratitude, you can use them with your friends, family, and even your community. Now it’s time to cut the talking, sit down, and feast! Happy Thanksgiving!
