Elective Subjects 

Learners at Jeppe High School for Boys have the opportunity to select 3 elective subjects from a diverse range of options. When choosing your electives, consider the following factors to ensure a balanced and manageable workload:

Maths-Intensive Subjects

Some elective subjects require a strong foundation in Mathematics. To excel in these subjects, students should have a Mathematics average of 55% or above:

• Accounting

• Information Technology (IT)

• Physical Sciences

Time-Intensive Subjects

Certain electives involve extensive practical work and require additional time beyond regular class hours. We recommend selecting no more than 2 of the following subjects with Practical Assessment Tasks (PAT) to avoid overburdening your schedule:

• Computer Applications Technology (CAT)

• Dramatic Arts

• Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD)

• Information Technology (IT)

• Visual Arts

Subject Pairing Restrictions

Please note that some subjects are scheduled at the same time, so out of the following pairs of subjects below EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER can be selected, but NOT BOTH:

• Life Sciences or Dramatic Arts

• Computer Applications Technology (CAT) or Information Technology (IT)

• Accounting or Visual Arts
