Class Tools is a classroom management system built into ChromeOS devices. It helps teachers guide learning by sharing resources, managing student screens, and keeping the classroom focused and engaged. It integrates with Google Workspace and Google Classroom to streamline instruction and reduce distractions.
Class Tools is available to JCPS teachers through their JCPS TIP device, and students on JCPS-managed Chromebooks. For more information about TIP eligibility and our TIP Chromebook, please visit jcps.me/tip.

No, you will only be able to utilize Class Tools on JCPS-managed Chromebooks.

Yes. Chromebooks offer built-in encryption, automatic updates, and zero reported ransomware attacks. Screen viewing is always visible to students for transparency.

They may be signed in to multiple devices. Ask the student to sign out of all others and use just one managed Chromebook. Ensure that they are signed into a JCPS Chromebook as well.
YouTube links default to “This page only” due to its navigation structure. This setting can’t be changed. To better control access, keep “Only allow Class Tools” enabled.
