Connecting to the AHS WiFi Network

READ ME: To connect, you will need a JCPS Network Account. You sign in with your SHORT user name & password. Your short user name, AKA Network ID, is NOT your email address - it is your first initial (and then second initial for students), and the first few letters of your last name, followed by a number. (All staff and students have an account.)

METHOD ONE - usually the easiest

  • Click on your device's WiFi icon or setting and disconnect from any WiFi network that says Connected

  • Click on your WiFi icon and select JCPS - If the option Connect Automatically or Remember this Network is available select it.

  • You will be asked for your JCPS network username and password.

  • Check the Acceptable Use Policy box if prompted.

You should now be connected. Too bad TikTok is blocked...

METHOD TWO - usually very reliable

  • Click on your device's WiFi icon or setting and disconnect from any WiFi network that says Connected

  • Click on your WiFi icon and select JCPSwireless - If the option Connect Automatically or Remember this Network is available select it.

  • Open a new browser window*

  • Scan the QR Code or go to 10.254.233.40 (That is the web address - no www or .com, just enter that IP address)

  • You will be asked for your JCPS network username and password.

  • Check the Acceptable Use Policy box

Your device should now be on the JCPSwireless network and you can watch cat videos to your heart's content.

*In some cases, the Device Registration Center page may open on its own without having to enter the 10.254.233.40 address. If that happens, simply enter your network credentials and agree to the AUP. If you get an error message it means that your device is already registered on the network.

METHOD THREE - usually stinks

  • Select the JCPSGuest network and suffer for the rest of your sad online existence. The Guest network will kick you off when others try to join, and it is slow - don't use it.
