The mission of Career Explore is to prepare high school students within Jeffco Public Schools for the post-secondary world of college and career. We provide students with comprehensive preparation through cohorted core and ACE career pathway courses, led by content expert educators, combined with scaffolded Work-Based Learning opportunities, including career exploration, industry training, certifications, and internships or apprenticeships. Career Explore programs ensure students graduate equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to learn how to thrive in their chosen career pathways and post-secondary life
Career Explore is a program designed from Colorado's Work-Based Learning Continuum to provide robust, career centric learning for students aligned with Jeffco Public School Thrive 2025 and the State of Colorado’s HB22-1215 State Task Force recommendations. We see collaboration between the school community, industry, and sector leaders as integral in enhancing and expanding student experiential learning opportunities.
We seek opportunities for students to identify and explore career pathways of interest, complete industry specific training and experiences, and obtain industry recognized certifications.
We offer opportunities for students to demonstrate core-content knowledge through course alignment of standards and competencies to earn credits toward graduation.
We offer students durable skill development through school based and industry lead instruction and with scaffolded WBL activities.
We see the program as an option for students to earn work-based learning experience in a career pathway to help support their postsecondary opportunities.
