Welcome back to school parents and students!! I am so excited to get this year started. The teachers and I have been planning various units and lessons for the new school year and I can't wait to share and facilitate the learning with my students.

A little bit about myself ... I am a native Coloradoan and Denverite. Living in South Denver I went to Denver Public Schools and am so grateful for the experience and teachers from my past. After earning my high school degree from Denver South in 1987, I then attended Metropolitan State College. As I explored a variety of professions I soon found that a career in teaching would allows me to wear a variety of professional hats and fulfill my desire to be a lifelong learner. As a result I have since obtained my Masters in Curriculum and Literacy Development, as well as, an endorsement in Gifted Education.

My philosophy in education is that all students can learn and be whatever they choose to be with determination. I see myself as a facilitator in the gifted classroom where students come in with a passion for knowing more, and it is my role to guide students and provide them the tools and strategies for optimal learning. Teaching in the gifted classroom continues to feed my passion for being a lifelong learner, as each day provides for so many new experiences.

None of this would be possible without the support of my husband Paul and my two beautiful daughters Ella (13 years) and Eva (9 years). When not at school we love riding our bikes, playing tennis, touring our city, fishing, hiking, and watching movies.

I realize that it’s important to maintain a balance between home and school and this allows me to put forth my best effort. I look forward to having you in my class and a wonderful year of growth!
