"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing."~Pele
I am excited to be returning for another year at Westridge teaching students a variety of physical activities in order to help them lead healthy lifestyles! This is my third year teaching here at Westridge, and it has been a wonderful experience working in a school that has so many fantastic students and colleagues!
I am a Colorado native and am a product of Jeffco K-12 education where I graduated from Wheat Ridge High School...Go Farmers! I continued my education at Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Human Performance and Sport and a Physical Education License.
Immediately upon graduating, I began substitute teaching in Jeffco while I searched for a full-time P.E. position. During that time, I taught in classrooms in all subject areas and grade levels. I also completed long-term substitute P.E. teaching experiences at the elementary, middle, and high school levels (during this time I confirmed that I loved the elementary world)! After substitute teaching for a year and a half, I earned a P.E. position at Wayne Carle Middle School in Westminster and taught 7th grade P.E. for one year. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed teaching at the middle school level, but I still had a desire to be at an elementary school and graciously accepted the P.E. position at Westridge.
Although I love teaching and learning new things, I also enjoy running, playing soccer, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.
