Meet the SEL Team

Kimberly Sharrow- Social Emotional Learning Specialist

Welcome Families & Students! My name is Kimberly Sharrow and I am the new Social Emotional Learning Specialist at Thomson Elementary School. I am very excited about this school year and the opportunity to further SEL at Thomson Elementary. Although this is my first year in this position, I have been a School Counselor for 10 years and worked with children for over 15 years!

I moved to Colorado about two years ago. Prior to moving here, I grew up in Vermont, attended college in both Upstate New York and Hawai’i and lived in NYC for several years. I participated in an exchange program from SUNY Plattsburgh to University of Hawai’i and decided to stay to attend Graduate School at Chaminade University. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and recently obtained both my National Board Counselor Certificate (NBCC) and CO License Professional Counselor license (LPC). I’ve worked in schools in Hawaii, NYC and Colorado, families and students from all walks of life. When I’m not at work, I enjoy hiking, seeing live music, traveling and spending time with the puppy, Hendrix. I’m looking forward to getting to know the Thomson community!

Maureen (Moe) Ellison, LCSW - School Social Worker

Hello! My name is Maureen Ellison but most people call me Moe. I am the school social worker at Thomson Elementary School. This is my first year at Thomson Elementary and I am so excited to be here! I obtained my BA in psychology and anthropology from Colorado Mesa University then went on to Denver University to obtain my MSW from the University of Denver. I have worked in the mental health field for 20 years in some capacity. I have always loved working with children and families, and find it very fulfilling.

I am a native to Colorado and grew up in the Arvada community. I have two children and enjoy spending time with my family. We love to go on walks and explore nature. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, yoga, and traveling.

Kim Kelly, LCSW- JCMH School-Based Clinician

Hello! My name is Kim Kelly, and I am the school-based therapist with Jefferson Center for Mental Health. This is my 4th school year at Thomson, and I love being part of this community!

I am originally from California and have been in Colorado for six years now. I attended MSU Denver for my master's program in Social Work and have worked with kids and families in school, office, and home settings. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family. I have two little ones so everything is a fun (and exhausting) adventure!
