  • have an alternative to the traditional ticket out the door
  • bring an important idea to think-pair-share
  • capture the most significant idea after analyzing any chart, map, graph, photo, or image
  • connect the ideas that may exist across two or more sources
  • bring closure after analyzing a weekly photo associated with current events (New York Times Picture of the Week)
  • analyze the photos in a news story to build schema prior to reading the story
  • summarize the content of a video
