Day Without Hate

A Day Without Hate is a student-led, grassroots organization that promotes nonviolence, respect, and unity within our schools. Help your child join their fellow students district wide to help end school violence and promote peace. By encouraging students to be tolerant, friendly, and kind, while teaching them that there are non-violent solutions to problems, hopefully as a community we can create a better world. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors for their efforts in promoting peace in their high schools and communities. The scholarship is funded by the traditional Day Without Hate T-shirt sales. The price of the T-shirt is $6 for both youth and adult sizes. Please send cash only and return your order form (linked below) by Monday, March 7, 2022 to the Main Office. Your child will receive his/her shirt by April 22nd and can be worn on April 29th.

Medication and Self Screening

A few reminders, please screen or have your students self-screen for any COVID symptoms before sending students to school. Please contact me (Kristie.Charron@jeffco.k12.co.us) for any student with a positive COVID test. If your student will be taking any medication at school, please complete the medication agreement form, have your doctor sign, and return to the nurse (this is also for any over-the-counter medications).

Please also continue to send state allergy, asthma, and seizure plans to myself or our health aide (michelle.hanson@jeffco.k12.co.us) in the main office. If your student has any new or existing health concerns that require a health plan, please contact the nurse so that we can get a health plan in place for your student at school.

I have included the link for the Jeffco Health Services Website which has the necessary forms to complete for medications at school.

RVHS Happenings

Algebra 2 students in Mrs. Cerrone's class are currently working on solving log equations, but they needed to take a quick break to celebrate it being 2:22 on 2/22/22!!

In honor of CTE month, this week's CTE spotlight is going to our Interior Design Program. RV's Interior Design Industry Partner, Sue Runge (Interior Designer and owner of Icon Designs) invited both of our Interior Design classes to one of her current house remodel projects to give them an inside look of the design process from the very beginning. We will go back in March when her project is close to be finished to see her progress!

Students in Mr. Pennell's AP Physics 1 class designed their own experiments to determine the moment of inertia of different objects.

Chemistry students in Mrs. Martin's class performed an experiment by reacting magnesium with hydrochloric acid and measuring the amount of hydrogen gas produced.

Friday's National Honor Society trivia night was full of high energy, laughs, and some brain scratchers. The spirit award went to team "Example: Cowboys", who brought the humor and matching pink outfits! Our overall winner was team, "We are definitely all seniors".
