Social Studies

Social studies is essential to understanding the complexity of the world. It provides context and understanding of how humans interact with each other and with the environment overtime.


In this course we will be studying the Eastern Hemisphere. We will be looking at history, politics, economics, and culture of regions within the Eastern Hemisphere. We will be using history, politics, economics, and culture to study early civilizations and contemporary governments, economic networks and issues that affect specific areas within the eastern hemisphere.


Unit 1: Legacies of Early Civilizations

In this unit we study the legacies of Mesopotamia, Ancient China, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Rome. We look at the 8 characteristics of civilization and how they impact these impacted each of the civilizations.
