Learning Platforms

Google Classroom will be the home for almost all student communication and posted assignments. Sometimes students will be able to complete the assignment within Google Classroom, but there will also be organized links to assignments that need to be completed on another site (Khan Academy, LearnZillion, Flipgrid, etc.)

To access Classroom, go to https://classroom.google.com/a/jeffcoschools.us/#home . The username is "your student ID number"@jeffcoschools.us (e.g. 0000000@jeffcoschools.us) and the password is your Jeffco password.

Imagine Learning Classroom

Imagine Learning is where students will take online assessments at the beginning and end of each unit and also some practice problems throughout units.

The PRE-assessments "Readiness Checks" are designed to collect data on prerequisite skills that students will need to be successful for the upcoming unit. The scores from these will not affect a student's grade, but it will be graded on completion. This is important for me to address individual gaps that may affect their performance in the next unit.

For POST-unit assessments (Tests), students will do their work for the problems on paper (and turn it in), but record their answers online.

Student accounts are linked to their Jeffco Clever account.

This is a great platform for giving kids more practice as well as hints and videos to explain concepts in different ways. Once students learn how to access these resources effectively, they will be able to expand their understanding of the concepts we discuss in class.

Students' Khan accounts are tied directly to their Google accounts. To access Khan Academy, go to www.khanacademy.org

Click "Login" and then "Continue with Google".

On your Learner Home page, you will find exercises to explore, but more importantly, specific exercises and articles assigned by me.

This is an individual journey for each kid to become a master of the many skills that it takes to be a fluent mathematician. Each week, students practice problems from their current level. Every other week, they take a test to get a higher score or even Level Up! It's kinda  like karate belts for math.

Website

This is a resource for students to practice the skills that they're struggling with. Once they've identified a question they missed on the last test, they can find it on this site, read an explanation/hints, and practice a few problems.
