About Mrs. Barker:
This is my 6th year at West Jefferson Middle School and I am excited to be coming back to West Jeff. This is my 20th year teaching. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed my undergraduate work from Ohio University in 2002. My husband and I moved to Alaska soon after. He served in the Army, and I taught Significant Needs at the elementary level. We moved to Colorado in 2007 and call it home!
I have taught for 10 years in Douglas County at the elementary level, and moved to JEFFCO in 2018, but have called Conifer home for over 10 years. I completed my Masters in Special Education in 2010 from Walden University and I love what I do. I have two boys and I enjoy spending my time reading, hiking, running, participating in yoga, playing volleyball, learning the ukulele and I am a full fledged “sports mom”.
