I am so excited to be entering my 4th year as a special education teacher. This is my 3rd year as the Significant Support Needs teacher at West Jefferson Middle School. I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, where I obtained my BA in Recreation and Sports Leadership. I moved to Denver 6 years ago, and decided to pursue my life long passion to become a special education teacher. I received my MAT in Special Education from MSU Denver. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, sports and traveling!
In my classroom, students are provided with specialized instruction and related services that focus on the individualized educational needs of each student. Instruction is guided by the Extended Evidence Outcomes of the Colorado State Standards. Each day, the special education team embeds quality instruction that focuses on independence, functional communication, and social skills programming.
