Check our Weather
We live in an area with a wide range of weather conditions - sometimes all in one day! Mitchell students go outside for recess most days. Please make sure that your student is prepared with sunscreen, layered clothing, a coat, gloves/mittens, hats, snow boots, and snow pants if they plan to play in the snow. When the ground is wet, it's a good idea to have your student wear waterproof shoes or to put extra socks and shoes in their backpack.
If all else fails, we have extra clothing to loan in the Health Room.
About me
My name is Deb Romig. I'm the Health Aide here at Mitchell. I am an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). I work under the licenses of our two District Nurses, Denise Beckman, RN, MS, CPNP and Sarah Finke, RN, BSN, M.Ed. I have been trained and delegated by our nurses to give medications, help with diabetes management, and to give emergency medications for Asthma and Anaphylaxis. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.
I'm married and have two adult sons. I've lived in Colorado since 1999 and in Golden since 2001. I'm a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Go Big Red!
