Battle of the Books 2021-22

How the Relay Battle Works

The Battle will occur in two separate 1 hr. events. We will begin in access and continue until 4pm. Battle Dates February 16th and February 23rd. Groups must be at both events for the whole time to win.

Wednesday Feb 16 - 3:00-4:00 (access + after school) Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4

Wednesday Feb 23 - 3:00-4:00 (access + after school) Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Round 8

Wed March 2 -Access Only - Awards and Celebration (subs, chips and soda)

Your team will answer up to 8 rounds of questions on the BOB books. Each round has 20-25 questions.

Group Oral Q & typed A - teams sit together. Facilitator will read the questions out loud, groups answer all questions together.

Group Knock out - teams sit together to read and answer questions as a group. The first team to complete all 25 questions stops the battle for all other teams. No one can type in an answer after a group completes all questions and calls stop.

Relay Race - each team sends one member to a Chromebook (about 15 ft away) to get a Battle Question. If they know the answer, they answer it and run back to their team for the next member to run to the Chromebook and get another question.

​If they don't know the answer, they run back to their team, ask them the question, then run back to their CB to type the answer. ​All the other teams battling at the same time.

First team to finish all questions in that round, stops that Battle Round.

  1. Check in with your group and make any changes to the link of participants above.

  2. Connect to BOB's Google Classroom (code will be given at the meeting or email Ms. Edoff if you were absent)

a. Classroom will provided links to BOB audiobooks and upcoming Wednesday meetings information.

b. All weekly updates will be posted in classroom moving forward.

Next Meeting (Monday Sept 27th) will be to officially input your team information- ie: group members, team name, team logo.

Max team= 4 students. Min team = 2 students.





September 27th meeting -

Your task today is to review expectations and finalize your teams.

1) Come up with a team name

2) Write down all member's first and last name.

3) Find a logo/team clipart that goes with your name. (copy the url of the image so I can find it)

4) Click here to submit your team information. You will need a team name, a team picture and the url for the image used.

5) Review commitments and expectations and return the bottom half signed by you and your parent/guardian no later than Oct 6.
