My name is Lori Aguiar, and I teach Physical Science at D'Evelyn Jr/Sr High School. I’ve taught at D’Evelyn since 2001.
I earned a biomedical chemistry degree, and worked for USC Medical School Endocrine Lab in Los Angeles. The lab equipment was interesting, but I missed social interactions. Then I discovered teaching!
In Physical Science we will pass electricity through different gases, see distinct bands of color, and discuss xenon headlights. We'll observe light as it reflects off mirrors and passes through lenses. We will place different salts in a Bunsen burner, see colors in the flames and discuss fireworks. I am excited because science is like magic but real!
