About Mrs. Fischer

Hello Parents, Guardians, and Students,

My name is Sarah Fischer and I am excited for this upcoming school year.  I wanted to give you my contact information, share a little bit about myself, and tell you about my teaching philosophy. 

This is going to be my third year at Summit Ridge Middle School and I am looking forward to it!  This is my eighteenth year of teaching. 

I graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2004.  After being in the corporate industry for a few years, I decided to pursue my real passion, teaching.  In 2007, I began a Teacher in Residence program at Metropolitan State College of Denver to obtain my Post-Baccalaureate degree in Special Education.  In 2016, I graduated from Regis University with a Master of Arts in teaching Reading.  

Working with children is a passion of mine. Every student is capable of learning when provided with instruction that meets his or her individual needs. The success of each child is exponentially higher when the teacher and parents collaborate together. 

Furthermore, developing a relationship with each child is a catalyst for academic growth. It is important to ensure that every student is confident in taking risks in and out of the classroom. Establishing goals and regularly showing students' their individual progress is a helpful tool in showing how far he or she has come. 

My goal for all students is to be lifelong learners and act as caring citizens who contribute to society. 

I have been married for twelve years.  I have a daughter named Teah, who is six and a son named Langdon, who is four.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, music, the outdoors, and being with family and friends.
