October News

On Wednesdays, we have been hard at work developing our puzzle room. The main structure is nearly complete and we are starting to decorate and develop the puzzles that participants will have to solve. Students are learning team work skills and project development as they problem solve the challenges of the build. We have explored the areas surrounding the school in our weekly walks and discussed ideas and practices that build mindfulness.

October will bring the next phase of our puzzle room on Wednesdays where we will focus on STEM challenges. We will also continue to learn about mindfulness and how it affects the brain.

There will be no school the week of October 8-12 due to parent teacher conferences. If you would like to schedule a conference, please let me know and we will arrange a time. I always enjoy talking with you about your children. Thank you for sharing them with me one day a week!

There are a few evening events this month. October 17 and 25 are parent nights to learn more about the Montessori method of education. Child care is provided for the 25, I'm not sure about the 17. Call the main office with questions. October 23 is Qdoba night, take a cooking break and support MPA in the process!

October 18 is picture retake day. Times TBA

Trunk or Treat is a daytime event, come decorate your car and hand out candy or just come to trick or treat. This is always a fun event.

We have the opportunity to join the main building on an all day field trip to Skate City for STEM and skating. The cost is $10 per student. Look for a permission slip in the weekly folder, I will send it out as soon as it's available

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Need to bring: lunch, water bottle, appropriate shoes with toes, sun hat if desired, and sunscreen if you would like your child to reapply it midday.

Dismissal: Please pull up into the round-about and wait. We will walk your child(ren) to your car. This ensures that we know they were delivered to you safely. Thank you for your cooperation.

Pizza Days: We will have a pizza day once a month. Look for the pizza schedule to come home on the first day of school.
