Conferences-

If you would like to have a conference to chat about how the year is going so far please just contact us. We would be happy to set something up to fit our schedules. We love getting to know our families. Of course, you can contact us anytime to talk too.

Doctor’s Orders Needed for ALL Medications at School- The school clinic will need a doctor’s order and a parent’s signature for ALL medications that we dispense at school. This includes Over-the-Counter medications, creams, etc. Thank you!

We are looking forward to introducing the children to more Montessori math and language materials in the coming weeks, as well as additional botany lessons and mindfulness practice. It’s so fun to spend each Tuesday with your children!

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us. We would be happy to communicate by email, or if you would like to meet for a ‘parent-teacher conference,’ we would be glad to arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet together.

Home School Options Newsletter-

May 2019

This last month has been productive in our class as the children completed their model animals and dioramas, practiced being grateful and optimistic, and went on their first field trip. It was such a delight to see their creativity and imagination as they each put their own personal design into their animals, masks, and dioramas. Their project culminated in a presentation in front of the class where each child shared about their animal and its habitat.

The month ended with a fun field trip day. The children had a great time riding in the big yellow school bus. Our time at the Denver Puppet Theater included three Brer Rabbit trickster tales, hands on exploring with a variety of hand puppets and marionettes, making paper puppets, and learning more about puppetry from the proprietress of the theater. It was a magical, creative environment that sparked a lot of questions and interest. We’re so grateful that the other Lower El classes invited us to join them on this marvelous adventure.

We are excited about our upcoming classroom events in May. Miss Lori and the children have been working very hard on a musical program that they are going to present to you on May 7th. The “Caps for Sale” program will be at 2:45 pm, so that we can use the stage in the main building. Families are invited to attend.

May 14 will be our last class day and a family hike. You are all invited to join us as we hike the South Valley trail.We will leave the school at 10:30 am to head to the trailhead. After the hike, we will gather at the pavilion there to eat our picnic lunches. Children will be dismissed to their parents, at the trailhead, after lunch. The children will be transported to the hike by parents. If you cannot join us and need your child to ride with another parent, please let us know. Information and permission slips will come home in your child’s purple folder this week.


Thank you for sharing your children with us this year! It has been a great pleasure to get to know each one of them as we’ve watched them grow and flourish this year. It’s been a fantastic year with this class!

General Reminders


Before School: Please apply sunscreen if you would like your child to wear it and have a good breakfast. We do not have snack until 10:00 in the morning.

Drop off: Please pull up into the round-about and let your child(ren) out. If you would like to walk them in, please park in the parent lot to the west of the round-about. The door to the classroom will open at 8:25. If you arrive before that, be prepared to wait with your child.

Need to bring: lunch, water bottle, appropriate shoes with toes, sun hat if desired, and sunscreen if you would like your child to reapply it midday.

Dismissal: Please pull up into the round-about and wait. We will walk your child(ren) to your car. This ensures that we know they were delivered to you safely. Thank you for your cooperation. If you are late, we are will take your child(ren) back into the classroom, and you may pick them up there.

PARENT PARKING!

When dropping off and picking up your students the upper east parking lot is designated for staff. Please DO NOT park, even for a second, in that east lot without being in a designated parking space. Our waste management company was not able to empty the dumpsters one day due to the dumpsters being blocked by cars. Just imagine one week of trash and recycling from a school and it not getting emptied. YIKES! We would greatly appreciate your cooperation in this matter!
