Mr. Hoggarth

About me

Hello Chargers! My name is Mr. Hoggarth, and I am excited for my fourth year at Chatfield Senior High.  Let's go!  Before coming here I taught middle school Language Arts at Arvada K-8 for eight years. Before that I taught at Fox Ridge Middle School in Cherry Creek, Jefferson Senior High School, Thornton High School, and two months in China teaching conversational English (unfortunately I don't speak any of the dialects of China).  

I grew up in Grand Forks, ND.   I was the youngest son of three boys, son of a Marine who served in Vietnam and the primary Pediatrician for my hometown.  My father met my mother in the small town of Kensal, ND, both children of farmers.  I mention these family details, because those roots have installed in me a strong work ethic and a drive to serve my community.  

I graduated with a degree in Philosophy and Religion from the University of North Dakota and went on to earn a Masters in Philosophy from Colorado State University, where I met my wife, Holly, in the teaching program.  She is a librarian and English teacher at Grandview High School in Cherry Creek School District.  Our shared love of education makes us both better teachers; well, at least she helps me out a lot and I steal her best ideas.
