2nd Grade at Foothills Elementary
Welcome to 2nd grade's website!
Ms. Steinke and Mr. Harn teach the best grade in Foothills Elementary (and yes, we are bragging!) We are both looking forward to another great year with more stability and a better classroom experience for all of our students. 2nd grade is a year packed full of growth in academics, social/emotional, and especially: Reading! We are excited to have a new and comprehensive reading curriculum to use this year and we can't wait to dive into reading with our classes.

Daily Schedule
8:30 Breakfast (enter through the cafeteria doors)
8:50 Soft Start (Fridays @ 8:45 - Morning Meeting in gym)
9:00 Start of School Day with SEL lesson
Please make sure to send your student (daily) with a water bottle with WATER only, a clean mask (or TWO!), a jacket, appropriate playground/PE shoes, and a healthy snack if possible. Thank you.
Meet Ms. Steinke!
My name is Candice Steinke and I teach 2nd grade. This is my third year at Foothills Elementary, but I have been teaching for over 15 years. I have experience teaching preschool, kindergarten, first, second and third grade. I have a bachlors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in gender and ethnic studies as well as, a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a single mother to two beautiful girls ages 8 and 19.
When I was a little girl I often played classroom where I would line up all of my stuffed animals, Barbies and dollies and pretend to be the teacher. Teaching has always been my passion and I feel blessed to be gifted with the opportunity to teach your children.
