Internship Description:

Our summer program for high school students is an opportunity to learn about healthcare on the frontline. They are able to volunteer in patient-facing roles and learn if they even like helping people.  they can watch nurses and physicians do their work while they contribute their efforts to the benefit of the patient experience or staff experience. Additionally, we have education opportunities they can attend.  These opportunities include learning about careers in Radiology, genetics, research, pharmacy, becoming a lab scientist, as well as physician and nursing. Students must be at least 16 years old.

 Hours of Operation:

Our summer program is 8 weeks and they volunteer for 2 or 3 4-hour volunteer shifts during the day. Shifts are usually 8:00 am - 12 :00pm or 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm.  No weekends or evenings are available for the program.

Required or Recommended Skills:

Science classes and an interest in healthcare.  It is wonderful when they have experience with communication and diversity.
