Internship Description:
Typically helping stock items and clean up rooms in clinical units, helping greet and direct visitors, and assisting with tasks that help take some burden off of clinical staff so they can focus on patient care.
Students interested in the medical field are placed in the Volunteer Department of area hospitals. Each hospital has a unique atmosphere and specialty. They also have very specific requirements students need to fulfill before they are able to begin their internship. The location of the hospital and the intern’s school or home address is just one of the variables used to determine the best placement for interns. Other variables include semester and specific opportunities available for interns to participate in. This document outlines the information for each of the participating hospitals.
As a volunteer, Interns complete duties for the various departments they are assigned. In a hospital, the students are surrounded by a vast number of medical professionals, medical equipment, and more. Students will be responsible for meeting with the volunteer coordinator routinely to set their schedules to reach 100 hours by the end of the semester.

8:00 am - 8:00 pm:
Volunteer shifts are 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, or 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
