Internship Description:
Dr. Manika Prasad is a professor in the Geophysics Department and a co-director of Center for Rock & Fluid Multiphysics. Her research interests are multidisciplinary research on rock, sediment and fluid properties, multiphysics, quantitative nano- and microscale characterizations, flow zone mapping, and nondestructive materials characterization. She recently led a Department of Energy project on CO2 storage and is leading the Mines’ portion of the DOE SMART initiative. She is leading the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Innovation Center. Through her teaching and research, she engages the next generation of industry professionals through her own clear understanding of rock physics and perceptive questioning of her students. CSM-Prasad

Intern 1:As a communication specialist, you’ll be an extension of our staff team and integral to helping GP achieve its strategic goals. In return, you will be allowed to develop marketable skills such as critical thinking, professionalism, communication, time management, and many more hard and soft skills for future employment.
Responsibilities
• Create and distribute flyers for department events.
• Work collaboratively with the department manager on assigned projects.
• Create and post content for department social media.
• Refine and execute social media strategy and increase following for GP accounts.
• Interview GP faculty, staff, and students for video content.
• Create short, 30-90 second, videos to be used for recruitment.
• Work on special projects with staff mentors.
• Other duties as assigned.
