EHS WEEKLY MESSENGER

October 24th, 2021

NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS

We continue to offer disposable masks at all school entrances for use by students, visitors and staff. However, it is preferred that most of us wear our own masks upon entry to the school. As you can imagine, the cost of providing disposable masks to all who are entering the building each day adds up! This is a school expense that we will be able to control, if students, visitors and staff provide their own masks.

Please consider encouraging your child to choose a comfortable reusable mask that they may wear to school each day. Thank You!

Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts department is SO excited to get back into LIVE performances and have a couple of upcoming events that they would love to see you at!

  • THIS Friday, Oct 29th @ 7pm welcome back live Improv Comedy! Tickets will be $5 at the door! One night only!

  • Also, don’t miss the classic tale of Scrooge, ghosts and holiday redemption! Come to one of our Fall Play performances on November 18,19 and 20th @ 7pm and a special Saturday matinee at 1 pm. Link to ticket sales coming soon!

Peru Trip 2023

Science teacher, Tyler Houston, is excited to announce an international travel adventure for our EHS students which will take place during the summer of 2023: Peru: Land of the Inca! (including Machu Picchu & the Amazon rainforest)

We are hosting an online meeting so families can learn more from the comfort of their homes. Please use the link at the bottom of this email to register for the meeting, even if you can’t make it (I'll send info your way after the meeting). Thank you! For security reasons, you must register for the meeting in order to receive the online meeting link.

Why this opportunity now?

  • Something for students to look forward to

  • A chance for students to reconnect to a world that feels distant and remote right now

  • Access to a $200 enrollment scholarship & Risk-Free Enrollment (we’ll talk more about these at the meeting)

  • Spread payments over a longer period of time, making the opportunity much more affordable

  • Allow students to step out of their comfort zones, grow their social skills, make connections to their studies, bridge cultural gaps, and take part in an experience that will set them apart when applying to college and their future careers

There has been a ton of interest among the students, but unfortunately, we can only offer a limited number of spots. These spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and have traditionally filled up quickly. We’ve been talking about this experience with students if you would like to ask your child for more details, as well.

The EHS Boys and Girls Soccer Programs have always supported this event through players entering teams and refereeing too.

Per tradition, we will be collecting gear and equipment donations from participants and spectators alike.

The Evergreen High School Boys and Girls Basketball Programs are pleased to announce that the 2021-22 Evergreen Basketball Team Store once again officially online and open for orders to be placed. A portion of the cost of each item purchased will go back to Evergreen Basketball.

The current round of ordering will take place from now until October 31 with delivery expected in approximately 4-5 weeks. We are reopening the store a little bit earlier than previously expected in order to try to get gear in closer to the start of the season.
