EHS WEEKLY MESSENGER

August 21st, 2022

NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS

Hello Cougar Families and Happy Sunday,

We hope your child had a good first week of school. It is such a pleasure to have them back in the building this year.

Back to School Night is back! Please join us on August 26th from 6:00-8:00 PM. This is your opportunity to acquaint or reacquaint yourself with your student’s teachers and our building, as well as experience a day in the life of your student by following a shortened version of their course schedule. New to Back to School Night is our Cougar Kick-Off. Athletics and Activities will have tables set up in Main Street. As you tour the school, stop by the tables to learn more about the many opportunities students have to get involved in the school community. Please note masks are required for attendance.

With regard to masks, we currently have extra on hand to provide to students who need them, however, our supply is quickly dwindling. It would be helpful if you would encourage your student to arrive to school with a mask.

Thank you to our parents and students for your support getting off the ground this week. Have a great weekend.

Brandon Brekke and EHS School Leadership

Back to School Night Schedule

Student Parking

Seniors and Warren Tech students must pay the parking fee and old fees and fines by Monday, August 23. Payments may be made through Jeffco Connect. Students who have not paid their fees by this deadline will be placed on a parking permit waiting list. Passes will be distributed during the first week of September.

Juniors will receive information about their parking permit application by Friday, August 27.

MAP Growth Testing

The MAP test is an hour-long assessment that provides information on student growth in English and Math. Students are tested at the beginning, middle and end of the school year. While this test is not graded, teachers use scores to adjust individual and class instruction. Given the disruptions to learning during the pandemic, the MAP test is a valuable tool in understanding student strengths and growth areas.

  • ENGLISH (9th and 10th Grade): August 25-26

Make-ups held during students’ English class on August 27

  • MATH (All Algebra 1 and Geometry students): September 1-2

Make-ups held during students’ Math class on September 3

20-21 Yearbooks

Our 2020-2021 Yearbooks arrived over the summer and we are so excited to share them with EHS families. If you purchased a yearbook last year, you may pick it up from Mrs. Graham's room (G-314) next week before school, during Advise on Wednesday, or during Access in the afternoons.

  • Not sure if you purchased one? Mrs. Graham has a list of paid students.

  • Didn't purchase one last year, but would like to now?? Email our financial secretary at patricia.stephens@jeffco.k12.co.us
