1. Read the article, "Women in the Civil War." As you read, take notes on what life was like for women in the Civil War.

2. Choose a famous woman to research from the Civil War. You can choose your own or choose from the list below.

- Mary Todd Lincoln (president's wife)
- Harriet Tubman (Union spy)
- Frances Clayton (soldier)
- Loreta Janeta Velazquez (soldier)
- Mary Galloway (soldier)
- Sarah Edmonds Seelye (soldier)
- Jennie Hodgers(soldier)
- Belle Boyd (Confederate spy)
3. Create a google presentation about women in the civil war and a famous woman from the Civil War. Include the following in your presentation:
a. General overview of women during the Civil War. Was the role of women in the North the same as the South? Similarities? Differences?
b. Background of the famous woman before the war
c. Who was this woman? What did they do in the war?
d. Why are they famous for their contribution?
e. Include several pictures of what the war looked like, the woman you researched, and anything additional that pertains.
* Be sure to be organized in your presentation. Use several slides for each topic remembering to limit the number of words per slide (bullet points are great!). Use lots of pictures!!!!
4. Turn in your presentation in google classroom.
