PURCHASE VARSITY GAME TICKETS (JEFFCO STADIUMS ONLY)

https://jeffco.hometownticketing.com/embed/all

We are excited to announce that Online Ticketing is here in Jeffco Public Schools. We will be using Home Town ticketing as our platform to purchase tickets for athletics events. Tickets can be purchased one of four ways: 1). Click the “Tickets” tab at the top of your school’s athletics website. 2). Downloading the Home Town Fan APP. 3). Scanning the QR Code on the attached flyer or Scanning the QR code that will be displayed near the entrance to each event. 4). Credit Cards will be accepted at each event. Cash will not be accepted as a method to pay for a ticket to an athletics event moving forward. Ticket prices will remain $5 per person, but you will see a service fee associated with your ticket purchase. In anticipation of making this move to cashless ticketing, our district chose to reduce ticket prices from $6 (last year) to $5 (this year) as a way to help lessen the financial impact on our fans. Another option we encourage families to take advantage of is our 10 Game Punch Pass. When a Punch Pass is purchased, the buyer will be charged a one-time processing fee, rather than paying a fee for each individual ticket purchase. We will still honor the Student Activity Pass, CHSAA Pass, & Jeffco Employee Pass.

We are excited for this change as it will improve the game day experience for our fans by reducing lines for admission, allowing families to pre-purchase tickets, and will allow a variety of cost saving family pass options which will be fully available beginning in the Fall of 2023. This process change will also help reduce the number of game workers needed to operate events and will help our game workers better support our events. Thank you for your support for Jeffco High School Athletics.

Thank you everyone!

A NOTE FROM TRAINER Dan Martinez:

Hello everyone,

My name is Dan Martinez and I am the head athletic trainer here at Chatfield.  I wanted to give you some information about how some of the situations will be handled if your child is injured during the season.

First, my office hours in the training room are 2-6pm Mon.-Fri. but that will be adjusted depending on game schedules.  I cover all home varsity sports, home JV and freshman football games and all varsity football games.

If your child is injured during the season, I will evaluate your child and treat them as needed.  I will also place them on a rehab program to return them to their sport.  Unfortunately I do not have the time to contact parents after every evaluation in non-emergency situations, however I will contact you thru phone or email if I feel your child needs further medical attention such as an X-ray, doctor visit or emergency room visit.

The concussion protocol is something that comes up quite often.  Per CHSAA rules, any student athlete that is showing signs of a concussion (headache, dizziness, nausea, etc.) after a hit or fall is required to be seen by a physician for a diagnosis.  They must also be cleared by a physician to begin a return to play progression with myself. Often the physician will clear them to begin a return to play progression when they are free of symptoms during the initial visit.  The paper work will then need to be returned to me so I can begin their progression.  The return to play progression involves a variety of exercises and then gradually introduces them back into the sport.  This generally takes 3-4 days before they are cleared for games.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  I will also be in constant contact with the coaching staff regarding any injuries that occurs.

Thank you,

Dan Martinez, ATC

CONCUSSIONS

I thought I'd lay out our concussion protocol for everyone going into the fall season. This protocol is based off of the CHSAA and Jeffco requirements so it is very important that it's followed. I have written out the basic steps for everybody below.

1. An athlete is suspected of having a concussion. Such as a blow to the head or face, followed by symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, ringing in the ears, memory problems or feeling out of it, change in personality, just to mention a few.  (attached is the injury report form that lists off the possible symptoms)

2. Send to a certified athletic trainer for an evaluation.

3. If any signs or symptoms of a concussion are present, they must be diagnosed by a physician, ideally their family physician.

4. Athlete must be cleared by a physician to begin a return to play progression (this may happen in the initial physician exam)

5. Athlete must go thru progression with the athletic trainer.

6. Athlete must be without symptoms for at least 24 hours and have no restrictions with school before beginning their progression.

7. The return to play (RTP) will be as follows

Day 1- Cardio 15 minutes, no sports specific activities.

        Day 2- Cardio 15 minutes, sprints, up-downs.

Day 3- Cardio 15 minutes, sprints, hand eye coordination. May participate in non-contact drills in practice.

Day 4- May participate in full-contact practice.

        Day 5- Cleared for competitions.

If the athlete has any return of symptoms during any step, they must repeat the same step 24 hours later.

I will do my best to email you when they are cleared to participate in practice but unfortunately it gets very busy in here at times and I'm unable to get on my computer.

I have included my office number so please feel free to contact me if you are not sure or anything comes up.  If you receive paperwork from a doctors office, please pass it on to me as soon as possible so we can take the next step in the process and get the athlete back as soon as they are able.

I understand that this process can seem difficult at times but it is for the safety of all the athletes as well as the liability of the district.

Please pass this on to your assistants and let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
