I am excited for my seventh year as the School Social Worker at Prospect Valley Elementary. As a school social worker I provide direct and consultative supports and services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral health needs to improve education outcomes. I primarily work with students identified as having an educational disability who are eligible for special education or 504 services or suspected of having a disability. I also provide social/emotional assessment, intervention, and crisis response supports.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver in 2017 with a concentration in Children and Youth. My interest to become a school social worker stemmed from my previous job as a middle school teacher when I taught 6th-8th grade math in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In my role as a teacher, I discovered the various challenges students and families face which interfere with their ability to receive an excellent education. I love the work I have the opportunity to do each day to help students and families eliminate these barriers and to feel more successful.

I was born and raised in Ohio where I lived for the majority of my life. I attended The University of Toledo where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, hiking, reading, attempting new recipes, and traveling to visit family and friends.
