The 26-27 School Year is Here!

Welcome back to our WJMS families! We are excited to have everyone back in the building and ready to take on another successful year at WJMS. Here are a few quick tips for getting back in to the swing of things:

Our first day for students is Thursday, so please plan to arrive on time! Our doors open at 8:15 for students who are not enrolled in Early Access Program. We request that all students are in the building by 8:40 to ensure that instructional can begin promptly at 8:45.
Stay up to date with all the district and school's communication. Be sure that you have access to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account and are able to receive information through ParentSquare. If you are unable or need assistance, please email Ms. Hawk at rhawk@jcss.us.
Know your student's transportation. If they are riding a bus, please know what time and where your student should be picked up in the morning and be sure that your student knows their bus route and number for their ride home. If you are unsure of the bus information, please review the district page linked here.

Upcoming Dates

We are thrilled to welcome all our students back for Open House at WJMS tomorrow, July 27th from 3PM-5PM. We encourage all our families to use this time to meet their teachers and get excited about the upcoming school year.

As a reminder, students should not bring in any outside food from restaurants. This will help with concerns about food safety, potential disruptions in the classroom, managing food allergies among students, and maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment.

We are thrilled to announce all JCSS schools are adopting the Raptor Safe mobile application as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety, while streamlining visitor management check-in at our schools. The Raptor Safe app builds upon existing visitor procedures, offering a more convenient and secure check-in process for visitors. Learn more by visiting www.jacksonschoolsga.org/raptorsafe.

Families, please remember that 1st period instruction begins promptly at 8:45 AM each day. To ensure students are in class and ready to learn on time, they need to be in the building no later than 8:40 AM. This allows them time to get to their classrooms and prepare for the day ahead.
