Bio:
This will be Coach Muehling's 4th year as the Head Women's Wrestling Coach. Under Coach Muehling's guidance the program has continued to flourish. In his tenure, girls wrestling has had 2 state champions, 7 state placers, 4th place state individual (team score) 2023, 2x area dual runner up, 1x Area Individual tournament Team champion (2025), 2x Area individual team runner up, as well as 1 girl named the Athens Banner Herald Female wrestling of the year (Raven cook),Lily Chavis named wrestler of the GA wrestler of the year, and the only wrestler, boy or girl, to place at the GHSA state tournament all four years (Raven Cook '22). In addition to excelling in competition, the program has grown from 5 wrestlers to start the 22' season to now having over 25 high school wrestlers and this season will be the start for our inaugural MS girls wrestling program.
Coach Muehling was a 4 sport athlete while he attended Calhoun High School (football, wrestling, swim team, and track). Coach Muehling was a 2 time All Area defensive lineman in football and was a 2 time state qualifier in wrestling, both being in the 215lb weight class.
After high school, Coach Muehling earned a scholarship to play football at Tusculum University. While at Tusculum, Coach Muehling was the strongest pound for pound athlete on campus, also known as the Pioneer Elite, all 4 years he attended. Muehling also holds many defensive and special team records for his efforts in football.
Coach Muehling has been blessed to help many young athletes achieve their athletic and academic goals during his time coaching. He assisted Sonoraville High School to a State duals appearance in 2015. Along his journey he has helped 8 wrestlers become state champions, 12 others reach the finals, as well as coached 1 World Team member. Coach Muehling has coached 9 wrestlers that competed at the collegiate level. In addition to wrestling, Muehling has had multiple athletes further their athletic career in college.
Coach Muehling is married to Mrs Kaitlin Muehling (Hill). She is a graduate of East Jackson High School '09 and currently teaches at South Jackson Elementary. Jason and Kaitlin have 2 children; Adeline (8) and Becket (5).

Coach Krause started her coaching career as a softball coach. After 7 years of coaching softball, she was asked to coach the inaugural year of Women’s Wrestling in Georgia. For 5 years she served as the Head Girl’s Wrestling coach at Jackson County until she stepped down to further her education.
Coach Krause enjoys spending time with her family. Weekends are usually spent at the ball field, or at home just hanging out and enjoying one another's company. Sports and kids are very important to her and she is dedicated to making every athlete she meets a better person.
Coach Krause is married and has 3 boys of her own and 2 stepdaughters. All of the kids, except one, are grown and out of the house. Her youngest son is in 8th grade and keeps her very busy with his baseball and football practices and games.
