Coach Gassman was a 4x All- Gwinnett County team selection in high school. He is a 4x County finalist and 2x County Champion. He won 4 Region Championships and was a 2x State Placer (3rd/5th).
At the University of Georgia, he competed in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association and won the 118lb National Championship in 1998 in Dallas, TX.
He previously coached at Collins Hill from 2002-2009 and assisted the team in winning 6 State Championships while finishing in the top 3 in state for 7 years.
Coach Gassman started the Mtn View program in 2009 and helped the Bears teams to 275 dual wins, 11 Region Championships, 5 Region Runnerups and 8 State Trophies in the 14 years of the program. He was selected as the 2015 Gwinnett Daily Post Wrestling Coach of the Year and the GACA Region Coach of the Year in 2021,2022.
During his time at Mtn View HS, 8 wrestlers went on to compete at the collegiate level ranging from Division 1, Division 2, NAIA and Junior College. One of the collegiate wrestlers became a 2x NAIA All-American as a National Runnerup and another wrestler became a Junior College National Champion.
In 2023, Coach Gassman was awarded the National Federation of High School Sports Award of Excellence by the GHSA.
Since 2023, he has been at JCHS and has helped the team earn two Top 4 State finishes and 2 Region Championships.
Coach Gassman has been on the Atlanta Takedown Association Board, the Gwinnett County Takedown Club Board , Georgia Wrestling Coaches Association Board, and the GHSA Wrestling Committee.
Coach Gassman's wife's name is Monica and has two daughters, Hannah and Elizabeth

Joseph Son
Coach Son graduated from Peachtree Ridge High School in 2006 and placed 3rd in the GHSA State Tournament in his final season as a Lion.
He continued his wrestling career at Liberty University (NCAA Division I) for four years.
Coach Son came back to Peachtree Ridge Cluster in 2011 and joined the youth team’s coaching staff. He joined the high school team the year after and coached for the next 6 years as an assistant coach.
Coach Son is excited to join the Panther Nation and Coach Gassman this upcoming season.
Coach Son is married to his wife Priscilla and they have a son named Milo.
