STEM Program
East Jackson High School implemented the R.I.S.E. Program for the 2024-25 school year, a STEM-centered curriculum. R.I.S.E. stands for Research & Innovation in Science & Engineering.

The R.I.S.E. program at East Jackson High School offers students the opportunity to engage in advanced, STEM-centered, project-based learning, fostering enduring and impactful educational experiences. Students will thrive in the dynamic R.I.S.E. environment while also benefiting from four traditional courses at East Jackson High School, providing a blend of innovation and tradition.
Why STEM?
STEM education is essential for preparing students for the 21st century workforce, which is heavily reliant on technology and innovation. Students who study STEM subjects gain valuable skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. They are equipped to tackle complex challenges and to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.
CTAE Pathways
Students in the R.I.S.E. STEM Program participate in both the Engineering Pathway and the Computer Science Pathway. These courses are done together as a year-long elective. R.I.S.E. students engage in project-based learning to solve real-world problems impacting our local community and beyond.
