Jackson Christian SOAR Purpose Statement

The Jackson Christian SOAR Program is designed to accelerate and enrich exceptional students’ educational growth and self-awareness in the five areas of giftedness: intellect, academia, creativity, artistic expression, and leadership. Jackson Christian will equip gifted students with educational opportunities to explore talent and career-developed pathways through a Christian worldview to become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

Michael Clay Thompson Language Arts Curriculum

This challenging, classical curriculum is used in all grades of SOAR beginning in 6th grade. During 4th and 5th grade we will focus on the MCT grammar curriculum while incorporating other extension activities such as book clubs, creative writing, and cross curricular projects.

Socratic Seminar

Students lead the formal discussion on an assigned text with open-ended questions. It challenges students to think critically, connect ideas, and be accepting of the views of the other students.

Gifted Education in Elementary

During our time together in 4th and 5th grade SOAR, we will place a great emphasis on learning what it means to be gifted. Students will build an understanding of how to utilize their God given gifts to impact the future.

School Mission

To lead students to love God by providing the opportunity for a quality,

values-oriented education in a Christian environment.

Purpose Statement

Leading students in continual learning that grows from a foundation of faith in God and

modeling the teachings of Christ and every aspect of life.
