Paige Belanger is a girl who loves animals. Rarely a day went by without Paige talking about an animal she saved or about her pet snake (also a rescue) at home. She is looking at pursuing a degree in a field with animals, and we know she is going to do well in that area! We are very impressed with her heart and look forward to hearing about her future! Auston persevered through some difficult senior classes, sometimes having to take a test a couple of times to pass a class, but he never gave up. His positive attitude made him a great role model for fellow students, and his sense of humor made him well liked by us all. We will miss him this fall and wish him the absolute best as he heads on to bigger and better things!
Brianna was hesitant about joining the E-Learning program. However, the growth and maturity that was displayed while in the classroom was an amazing transformation. Bri has the tools to succeed in whatever she chooses to do. We are proud of you! Continue to make good choices!

Xavier Braker is a student the GED Option 2 teachers could count on to show up every day. He had a great sense of humor and could be found talking and laughing with his fellow classmates. Although he liked to wait until the last minute to turn in work, he would do it, and then would smile with pride. Xavier held down a job while he finished his school work. Diego always entered school with a smile and a joke. Whatever situation he found himself in, he was always able to find some humor. When students created robots for a competition in class, Diego showed a talent for designing and building. Diego was also very eager to get his hands dirty when students visited the district outdoor lab on field trips. We know that Diego is hard working outside of school and will certainly be an asset to whatever career he chooses to apply himself towards.
School wasn't his thing for a while, but Cameron knew he had to finish high school. He enrolled with us, we went into quarantine, and Cameron persevered. Logan Campbell was the student you could always count on. Even if Logan went hunting before class, he would show up, on time, with a smile on his face. Logan is a hard worker. He works in construction and he states he can see himself in that career field. Alexia Castro is that smart, quiet girl who is a dream to have in class. In her quiet, unassuming way, Alexia would just get down to business and knock out high quality assignments. She is so motivated that she took college classes the second semester in the area of Early Childhood Development. Her college professors can't say enough good things about her, and neither can we. Hunter Fain is a generous person. He would share anything he had brought to class. He became very motivated in April and knew he was going to get done and become a graduate. A few months into her junior year Hanna Falls realized she needed to make some serious changes if she was going to graduate high school. She made a tough decision to join the Challenge Academy. She was quickly recognized as a leader among her group and was promoted to Cadet First Class. Brooklyn Groll came to the GED Option 2 program from the Alternative Education program. Brooklyn was a student who held down a full time sales position while continuing her education. She knew she wanted a high school diploma and she achieved it early. Her current plans include moving to Michigan and getting a full time job in the sales field. Damien Hanson came to the GED Option 2 program the second semester with many of his high school credits already completed. He was able to finish the rest of his credits to say he is a 2020 graduate! Heaven Hanson started at RRCS in November of 2019 as a Junior and excelled as a student here. She worked extremely hard to get all of her graduation requirements completed by early May and is graduating a year early! In addition to being a model student and working part time, Heaven also welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world in April. Heaven will be attending the University of Wisconsin Whitewater at Rock County this fall and will study to become a dental hygienist. It has been an absolute pleasure to have Heaven as a student. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see all the amazing things she will do!

Saphire Hollenstein returned to the GED Option 2 program as a mother of a beautiful little girl. Being a teenage mom while trying to be a high school graduate would turn many people away, but Saphire took on this challenge with gusto. Facing many obstacles, Saphire was able to overcome and finish all of her requirements. She is now a mom of two beautiful little girls and we are in awe at how she manages her priorities. She deserves a lot of accolades and we couldn't be prouder! Nice job, Saphire!
Kyle Holmer came into the GED Option 2 program second semester. He knew it would take a lot of work to get done in one semester, but Kyle knew he was up for the challenge. And he did it! The GED Option 2 team is going to miss Kyle. His quirky personality and constant debating skills in the classroom was a fun addition to our small group. Arthur House is a young man who made the decision to attend the Challenge Academy in the fall. Once he completed that rigorous program he returned to the School District of Janesville and enrolled in the Rock River Charter School to become a high school graduate. His future plans are to join the Army and become a Corpsman. We know Arthur can do anything he puts his mind to and he has proven it this year! We are proud of you, Arthur!

Calvin Johnson came into the program in September and was able to graduate by January! Calvin was the student who was quiet yet profound. Joseph Kanmore is a student who returned to us this school year. His passion and dedication to his education made graduation a reality. Joseph is a student who brought a lot to the classroom. Becca has been a bright addition to our classroom. She brought out the best in several of our students, and we have all appreciated her sense of humor and quiet determination. Carl made a unique impression on the Alternative Education program. He often volunteered to help, watering plants and volunteering to assist staff in whatever else was needed. Carl's friendly, good-natured attitude will be terribly missed. There will likely be no other student counting the number of high fives he can get from others in a day. Carl consistently put a smile on the face of those he encountered. Carl will be working with the Job Corps to find employment that suits him. There is no doubt that wherever Carl goes, he will be loved just as much as he was during his time at RRCS.

Max Prochazka is a student we could count on to be at school everyday. He has a wealth of knowledge in the areas of computers and video games and can get into long discussions on both topics. He is a personable young man who could be counted on to wait downstairs to escort his friend to class. Max is looking at getting a job or going into the field of computers after high school. We are so proud of his accomplishments and can't wait to see what the future holds for him!
Isiah demonstrated his ability to distance himself by remaining calm and focused when drama presented itself. This laid back approach is one of the many qualities that draw people to him. Isiah has also shown his willingness and determination to see things through and finish what he started. “Life moves pretty fast. Samantha came to us determined to graduate early. She dedicated herself to her classes and worked hard to accomplish her goal. She was pleasant to have in class and we will miss her, along with that winning smile and the infectious laugh. Best of luck in your future endeavors!
Mia is a very intelligent student whose dedication to finishing classes and graduating were hidden by her quiet, calm demeanor. Trials and tribulations mark your life. You came to E-learning with the weight of the world on your shoulders. You doubted yourself and expected failure. John Rios is a nice young man with a great personality. He was very proud of his heritage and spoke about it often throughout class discussions. John is a hard worker. He worked a full time job while attending school. He plans on joining the carpenters union after high school and we have complete confidence he will accomplish this goal. Maranda Rogers is a hilarious, quiet student with a fantastic sense of humor. She will always be known for her great t-shirts. Maranda always helped the teachers and other students when they needed it. She is an all around nice human being that will do great things in her life. Nathaniel Rufino was a returning student in the GED Option 2 program. He returned very motivated and finished four online classes in the course of the summer. He was one of our first 2019-2020 graduates. The GED Option 2 team will always remember Nathaniel as a very polite, articulate student with a great smile. Kevin was a hard worker right from the start. He managed a lot of responsibilities outside of class while remaining positive and did a great job staying focused and working hard to complete classes. Jazmine was able to complete the GED Option 2 program early because of her hard work and determination. She was highlighted in the School District of Janesville Senior stories. She came to the GED Option 2 program from RAMP and worked hard to get done. While in school, she worked at Cedar Crest. Her plans for the future include going into the nursing field and she is already accepted into Blackhawk Technical College in the nursing department. With her caring nature, she will do well in the healthcare field. We are so proud of you, Jazmine!
Tajah is a really good role model for students. Even when she needed to get her own work done, Tajah did not hesitate to help someone else if she thought she could. Coming to school has become really difficult for her but she isn't giving up. She'll attend summer school and finish up and graduate with her class. Congratulations Tajah!

Maria Torres came into the GED Option 2 program through the Alternative program and the Challenge Academy. Maria knew she wanted some structure in her life, and the Challenge Academy gave her that. In the Challenge Academy, Maria passed all of her GED tests and returned to the GED Option 2 program to finish up. She is a very polite, disciplined young lady who hopes to go into the military. She is currently looking for a full time job while waiting to enter the military. Maria, you are going to be great! We are proud of you!
Micah Torres is a student with deep thoughts. He worked hard to overcome obstacles in order to complete his requirements to achieve his goal of graduation. Micah had great relationships with the RRCS staff, especially Michelle, and we are proud of him. His plans are to go to Blackhawk Technical College in the area of HVAC. Eulogio Velasco, or Junior as he is known, is a very artistic, very personable young man. He is a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to work hard to achieve his dreams. Eulogio decided he wanted to go to college, so he applied and has been accepted into Blackhawk Technical College. Guadalupe is another late starter with us, coming at the tail end of her senior year. She didn't waste any time working on her classes. She knows summer school will provide the time she needs to finish up what she has started. We hope we get a chance to meet her in person in the near future and tell her how happy we are for her. Kegen seems like a quiet young man until you get to know him. He has a sense of humor and an easygoing attitude that will take him far! Kegen handled his challenges like a champ and finished the year at record pace. He's an unbelievably hard worker and has been a joy to have in class. We will miss him and his smile brightening up the InSPIRE office.
Rochelle joined us late in the school year. This young woman moved to Janesville, and was facing some challenges that could have made the idea of dropping out very tempting. Instead, she chose to return to school, knowing it would be the best decision for her and her daughter. Rochelle worked incredibly hard to complete her graduation requirements. She has proven herself to be strong, determined, and a hard worker. Congratulations, Rochelle!
Ryleigh White is that super sweet, uber bright, self-motivated student all teachers dream of having. She was beautiful on the inside as well as outside. She is a devoted daughter and a great student. She completed her requirements quickly and has a very bright future. She is deciding between cosmetology or counseling and has already been accepted into Blackhawk Technical College. Rajah never gave up on herself. Even when things were tough, when she had to jump through hoops just to get to school, she kept plugging away. Angel Zimmermann is a student passionate about life. Her self-assured, confident personality made her the first one to volunteer in class. She worked really hard to pass the GED math test and was excited to see that passing score! Angel did this program while pregnant and completed the program just days before giving birth to her daughter. Angel was accepted into Blackhawk Technical College in the fall and will pursue a degree in Nursing or Criminal Justice. We know her path will be amazing. Way to go Angel!
