Mr. Miller

Charles Miller serves as the Director of bands at Iroquois West Community Unit School District where his responsibilities include, director of High school Band, 5th, 6th, 7th/8th grade Band.

Raised in Bourbonnais, Illinois, Charles received his Bachelor's degree in music education from Olivet Nazarene University in 2020. While there he was apart of the Afro-cuban drum ensemble and gyil (Ghanaian xylophone) ensemble. Also, he was the section leader of the olivet concert band percussion for 2 years and part of the tuba line in the Marching tigers for 1 year. He started his career in a small town called Potomac, IL. There he taught K,1,2,3,4, and 5 general music along with 5-8 band. Then he moved to Hoopeston and taught 4th grade beginning band and 5-6 concert band along with lessons for 4th-12th grade students at Hoopeston Area schools. Most recently, Mr. Miller was the Director of instrumental music at Dwight public schools along with being in charge of audio for all perfomances, at the school.

Charles Participated in the ILMEA Chorus in 2015 for their 75th anniversary celebration. He has also been involved in the Kankakee Municipal Band (2019) and The New Horizons Band in Kankakee (2015-2020, 2022-Present). Charles is an active member in the National Association for Music Educators, Illinois Music Educators Association, and the Percussive Arts Society.


Miss Fink

Hannah Fink serves as the Director of Choirs for the High School, Middle School, and the Upper Elementary School, the General Music teacher for 4th and 5th grade, and the Director of the Spring Musical. 

Miss Fink was born and raised right here in Onarga. After graduating from IW in 2017, she attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she received her Bachelors of Music - Musical Theater. In her time at SIUE, Miss Fink was a member of the National Association for Music Education, the concert choir, and various Opera and Musical Theater productions, such as Chicago, Mamma Mia!, and The Rake's Progress, to name a few. This role at Iroquois West will be her first time teaching in a classroom - but she has taught private voice and piano lessons in recent years. 

Hannah was a member of the ILMEA District Choir in the falls of 2014, 2015, and 2016 and the IMEC All State Choir in Spring of 2017. In her time outside of school, she enjoys performing in various community theater productions and has been seen in the community at shows at Country Theater Workshop in Cissna Park and Kankakee Valley Theater Association in Kankakee.
